Cultural Tours in Sri Lanka

Walk in the footsteps of ancient kings. Sri Lanka has eight UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and our cultural tours take you to the finest of them: climb Sigiriya at dawn, cycle through the ruins of Polonnaruwa, and join pilgrims at twilight in sacred Anuradhapura. Then head up to Kandy, the last royal capital, to hear the drums at the Temple of the Tooth. Your driver-guide brings every story to life, so you'll leave understanding Sri Lanka, not just seeing it.

Best time to go: December to April is ideal, but the Cultural Triangle is dry and sunny from June to September too, which makes it perfect for UK summer holidays.

Highlights

  • Sunrise climb of Sigiriya Lion Rock
  • Cycling through ancient Polonnaruwa
  • Sacred Anuradhapura at dusk
  • Dambulla's painted cave temples
  • Evening puja at the Temple of the Tooth
