Straight to the beach
Your driver-guide meets you at the airport. It's about two hours to Bentota and your first sunset on the Indian Ocean.
Overnight in Bentota - Day 2
River and turtles
Boat safari through the mangroves of the Madu River, then visit a turtle conservation project at Kosgoda.
Overnight in Bentota - Day 3
Galle Fort
Head south to Galle. Explore the fort's boutiques and cafés and walk the ramparts at sunset.
Overnight in Unawatuna - Day 4
Jungle Beach
Snorkel at Jungle Beach and walk up to the Japanese Peace Pagoda for views across the bay.
Overnight in Unawatuna - Day 5
Stilt fishermen and Mirissa
See the stilt fishermen at Koggala on the way to Mirissa. Evening at Coconut Tree Hill.
Overnight in Mirissa - Day 6
Whales and dolphins
Early-morning whale and dolphin watching (November to April). The afternoon is yours to relax.
Overnight in Mirissa - Day 7
Surf or relax
An optional beginners' surf lesson in Weligama bay, or simply a hammock and a good book.
Overnight in Mirissa - Day 8
Farewell
Transfer to the airport via the Southern Expressway.
