Booking Terms & Conditions
Delight Lanka Travels & Tours
These booking conditions form the contract between you and Delight Lanka Travels & Tours. We've written them in plain English so they're easy to understand. Please read them before you book.

1. About us
Delight Lanka Travels & Tours ("we", "us") is a tour operator based at 32/3, Makola South, Makola 11640, Sri Lanka. "You" means the lead traveller named on the booking and everyone travelling with them. The lead traveller must be 18 or over and confirms that they accept these conditions on behalf of the whole group.
2. What we provide
We provide private, chauffeur-guided tours in Sri Lanka. That includes your own air-conditioned vehicle, an English-speaking chauffeur guide, airport transfers, itinerary planning and 24/7 support during your trip, as described in your written quotation. Hotels, meals, international flights, entrance fees and activities are not included unless your quotation clearly says so. If we reserve something for you as a courtesy, such as train seats or a safari jeep, we do so as your agent, and that supplier's own terms apply.
3. Prices and currencies
- Website prices are "from" prices per person, based on the number of travellers stated for each tour. They're a guide to help you plan.
- Prices shown in pounds, euros, Australian dollars or dirhams are converted from our US dollar prices using recent exchange rates, so they're approximate. Your written quotation shows the exact, binding price.
- A quotation is valid for 14 days unless it states otherwise.
- Price guarantee: once your booking is confirmed, we will not increase your price. The only exception is if you ask to change your itinerary.
- Estimated entrance fees are provided to help you budget. They are set by the Sri Lankan authorities and site owners and may change.
4. Booking and payment
- To confirm your booking, we ask for a deposit of 20% of your tour price. Your booking is confirmed when we receive the deposit and send you a written confirmation.
- You can pay the balance by bank transfer before you arrive, or on arrival in Sri Lanka in the currency and by the payment methods shown in your confirmation.
- We will only ask you to pay into the business account shown on your invoice. If you ever receive a message asking you to pay somewhere else, please call or WhatsApp us on +94 70 382 2281 before paying.
5. If you cancel
Please tell us in writing, by email or WhatsApp. Cancellation charges depend on when we receive your notice:
| Notice before your arrival date | Cancellation charge |
|---|---|
| More than 30 days | None. Your deposit is refunded, less any non-refundable costs we've already paid for you (such as train tickets) and bank charges. |
| 30 days or less | Your deposit |
| No-show, or leaving the tour early | Your deposit, plus any balance already paid for days not used |
We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers cancellation, so you can claim these costs back if something unexpected happens.
6. Changes you make
Before you travel, we're happy to change your itinerary free of charge wherever we can. You pay only for any extra days, extra distance or extra services. During your tour, your chauffeur guide will try to accommodate reasonable changes. Extra days are charged at our standard daily rate.
7. Changes or cancellation by us
We rarely need to make changes, but occasionally weather, road conditions, closures or safety concerns mean that we must adjust a route or timing. We'll always choose the best available alternative. If we need to make a significant change before you travel, you may accept the change, choose an alternative tour or cancel for a full refund of everything you've paid us. If we have to cancel your tour for any reason other than force majeure, we will refund everything you've paid us in full.
8. Force majeure
We are not responsible for failing to provide, or for delays in providing, our services because of events outside our reasonable control. These include extreme weather, natural disasters, epidemics, government action, civil unrest, strikes and fuel shortages. In such cases, we'll do everything reasonable to help you, and we'll refund any part of our services we're unable to provide, less costs we can't recover.
9. Your responsibilities
- You must hold a passport that is valid for at least six months from your arrival date, and the correct Sri Lanka ETA or visa. Always check the entry requirements for your nationality before you travel.
- Travel insurance is compulsory. It must cover medical treatment, repatriation, cancellation and any activities you plan to do.
- Please tell us about any medical conditions, mobility needs or dietary requirements that may affect your trip.
- Follow your chauffeur guide's safety advice and local laws, and respect local customs, including the dress code at religious sites.
- Seat belts must be worn at all times. Please tell us in advance if you need child seats, and we'll arrange them where available.
- We may end the services of anyone whose behaviour puts others at risk or causes serious offence, without refund.
10. Driving hours and safety
For your safety, we plan realistic daily driving times and avoid long drives after dark wherever possible. Your chauffeur guide needs proper rest each night. Their accommodation and meals are already included in your price.
11. Other suppliers
Hotels, restaurants, safari jeeps, boat trips, trains and other activities are provided by independent suppliers. We recommend only suppliers we trust. However, their services are governed by their own terms, and we cannot be responsible for their acts or omissions. We will always help you resolve any problem.
12. Our responsibility to you
We will provide our services with reasonable skill and care. Our liability for any claim is limited to the price you paid us for our services, except in cases of death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or where the law does not allow us to limit it. We are not responsible for losses we could not reasonably have foreseen. Nothing in these conditions affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
13. Complaints
If something isn't right, please tell your chauffeur guide or contact us straight away, so that we can put it right while you're still here. If you're still not satisfied, write to us within 28 days of the end of your tour at delightlankatours.info@gmail.com, and we'll reply within 14 days.
14. Financial protection
We are a Sri Lanka-based ground operator and do not sell flights or accommodation packages. Our services are therefore not covered by ATOL or by UK, EU, US or Australian package-travel protection schemes. That's exactly why we ask for only a small deposit and let you pay the balance on arrival, so your money is never at unnecessary risk.
15. Photographs and reviews
We'll only use photos of you, or your words, on our website or social media with your permission.
16. Law and jurisdiction
These conditions are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Sri Lanka have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in another country, you also keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence.
